wedding tips1. Create a must-have shot list and keep it on you all throughout the coverage of the wedding event.

This is something that has been happening between wedding photographers and brides and it is something that is basically as old as time. Brides usually get disappointed with wedding photographers who neglect or miss out on some of the most important moments that they would like to get documented in their wedding. This is one of the most common things that brides and photographers disagree about at some point and something that you might want to take care of and get out of the way as much as possible and as early on as you can. The best way for you to be able to go about with an embarrassing and dissatisfying situation such as this would be to have a long and good talk with the bride.

  1. Discuss all of the important moments that the bride thinks she absolutely cannot do without.

Make sure that this is something that you are able to get down on an actual and physical paper list. You should then proceed to go ahead and see if there are any items that you would like to add on for good measure. Having a must-have list would mean that you will be able to keep track of things that you have already captured. Cross things out as you along the way and keep the list on you until you are done with the coverage. Over time, this is something that you basically get better with and you will not need the list at all once you have them all committed to memory.

  1. Change your camera lenses every now and then.

There are some instances wherein people in the wedding tend to get a bit awkward and a tad bit too uncomfortable when you are up in their faces all the time. Sometimes, you need to scoot back a little and get out of the way and pretty much take your photos from a comfortable enough distance. You need to make sure that you are able to arm yourself with all of the right equipment that you will need. You need a telephoto lens that will let you take all of the right photos from a distance. That is usually the main reason why you need at least two cameras so that you can house or mount two different lenses on them. It is way faster and way easier for you to swap in between cameras than to have to keep fumbling with different kinds of lenses at some point. Actually, this is a great way to start when filming the couple. Start from a comfortable and far enough distance then work your way forward as you go along.

  1. Know the people around

It also helps if you go through the trouble of finding out the names not just of the bride and the groom but of the people who are close to them as well. Try to figure out who the maid of honor and who the best man is as well. Try to be on first name basis with them if you can pull it off.

For most of the newborn photographers out there, the shopping around and the act of collecting the props and getting them all together is almost just as fun as using them in the actual photo shoot. If you are not that much of a shopper, there is no need to rush. Take your time and go about this slowly and surely. Sometimes, the pieces pop up when you are not really looking for them, like when you are just walking around on a weekend and stumble upon a church fire sale or something similar to that.

If you are starting to collect your own set of props for newborn photography, it is important to know exactly what you are looking out for so that you will know when to buy when you see them. This article aims to give you a rundown of some of the most basic and essential newborn photography props you can definitely use.

Wraps

Wraps are awesome especially if you are just starting out if newborn photography. Babies like the feeling of security and the warmth brought about by being wrapped. Investing in several pieces of wraps is always a good thing. Start out with the gauze ones and you can build on from there. They are also great alternatives for clothing and can be used for when parents are not that comfortable with having their babies being photographed in the buff. Most babies do not like the feeling of having their feet and their hands free and they really love the solace and that comfort from being wrapped so this really is one of the best things for you to start with.

Blankets

Blankets are awesome for babies. Try to look for blankets that have a rich texture and nice colors as well. One rule of thumb that you should always remember when you are looking for blankets is for you to make sure that the blankets that you do buy are soft to the touch. It is never advisable to put a rough blanket on a newborn. It will make the newborn baby extremely uncomfortable and might even go to the extents of chafing his skin, and that is something that you should avoid by all means. Try to go for soft and solid colors and do your best to veer away from anything printed. The reason why prints are discouraged is because of the fact that they may be visually confusing at some point.

Faux Furs

Faux furs are wonderful additions to your prop box for newborn photography. They are oftentimes soft to the touch. That in itself is one main reason why you should have it there in the first place. Their textures are very rich and they are oftentimes extremely thick. This can be something very comfortable for newborn babies to lie on or sleep on. Not only that, faux furs photograph quite nicely and the best part of it all is that they come cheap and you can purchase them in bulk or even by the yard.
